          Appointment of Andy Greensmith as Chief Financial Officer          

Acorn Group Plc, the technology design and solutions company, announces the
appointment of Andy Greensmith as Chief Financial Officer.  He will be filling
the position made vacant by the promotion of Stan Boland to the role of Chief
Executive Officer on 15th June 1998.

Andy Greensmith, aged 37, joins the company from the BBC, where he was
Treasurer, with responsibility for all corporate and project financing.  Prior
to that he was Treasurer at BBA plc, the industrial holding group, and also
spent six years as Treasurer at ICL plc, a 90% Fujitsu Limited Affiliate.

His holds a degree in Banking and Finance, and is qualified both as an
accountant and as a Treasurer.  He also has an MSc in Information Technology.

Stan Boland, Chief Executive of Acorn, commented:  "I am very pleased to
welcome Andy to the Group.  With his broad knowledge of treasury, financing
and technology, he will make an excellent addition to the management team."
