Date for the announcement of preliminary results for the year to 31st December

A committee of the board of directors of Acorn will meet on the evening of
29th April 1998 to approve the Company's preliminary results for the year
ended 31st December 1997.  These results will be released to the London Stock
Exchange on the morning of Thursday, 30th April 1998.
