Norwegian telecommunications services provider Telenor ASA
(TEL.OS) said Thursday its Indian subsidiary Uninor has announced
that the company's operations in Uttar Pradesh East is now
profitable, after becoming the first region to achieve a break-even
result at the Ebitda level.
MAIN FACTS:
-In recently concluded auctions, Telenor secured 5 MHz spectrum
in the so-called "circles" Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West,
Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra . Uttar Pradesh
-According to the company, Uninor's break-even result in Uttar
Pradesh East is the fastest break-even by any mobile operator in
any circle in India. It expects remaining circles to begin
achieving the break-even targets in the months to come.
-Shares closed Wednesday at NOK112.80.
