LAS VEGAS, NV / ACCESSWIRE / February 03, 2015 / Wham Inc. - Community Alliance Network and Developmental Outreach serves the underserved and behaviorally mentally challenged population of Southern Nevada. They provide Rehabilitative Mental Health (RMH) services including Psychiatric Assessment, Psycho-therapy, Medical Management, and intervention such as Psycho-Social Rehabilitation and Basic Skills Training. CAN DO has been in operation since 2011 and is a member of the Nevada Behavioral Health Care Network (BHCN). They have been accredited by the State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Nevada Division of Health Care and Financing Policy, and Medicaid. They currently accept state insured clients who are in the lower economic strata, and are physically and/or mentally challenged.

CAN DO focuses on wrap-around client centered services, which targets clinical care coordination successfully attaining the highest level of possible care for all its recipients. Recently, CAN DO was given the opportunity by the local U.S. Veterans Hospital to participate in a Mental Health Summit to help address the growing needs for the local veterans who are in need of community support and services particularly those suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The Shine Family Foundation, (http://shinefamilyfoundation.org/) is a local service health facilitator in California who secures services for Veterans in the Southern United States. The Shine Foundation board has requested CAN DO to consider extending its resources and services for the servicemen and women returning from active duty. This proposal is currently under review by CAN DO's Medical Director, Dr. Rodrigo Farrales along with its executive Director, Vilma Gorre. CAN DO has been a sounding board and resource member for the local veteran organizations such as the Henderson Vietnam Veterans to help find resources in facilitating the many needs including their families.

CAN DO is pursuing a comprehensive program in order to support the lack of services in Southern Nevada. The Behavioral and Mental Health problem is a ever increasing challenge faced by the United States and Nevada, who has been under scrutiny for being below the level of expectation in services, providers, and facilities. CAN DO is committed to help provide a solution and resource in the challenges faced by Southern Nevada in alleviating the lack of resources and service providers with the latest methodologies and practices in the field today.

The VA spent $294 million in 2012 alone to treat PTSD. That number is expected to reach $500 million by 2017. The company's has laid out its four year projections modeled after the current CAN DO business structure.

- The projections for 2015-16 is to acquire and double its current recipient/patient services. The projected gross revenue for 2015-16 is $475,000 yearly thereafter.

- The projections for 2016-17 is to triple its recipient/patient services for a projected gross revenue of $950,000 yearly thereafter.

- The projections for 2017-18 is to increase its recipient/patient services for a projected gross revenue of $1,975,000 yearly thereafter.

CAN DO operates with the VA in order to provide assessment services in conjunction with the guidelines, budgets and protocols sanctioned by the US Senate. CAN DO has been working with its grant writer who has the expertise to evaluate and instruct the necessary plans to avail funds from the Veterans Access Bill. The appointed officer will become the liaison to the Medical field and U.S. Government.

The Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014, authorized $17 billion in spending over the next three years. $10 billion dollars of this bill has been allocated to help vets receive health care from outside of the VA, if they have been on a waiting list for more than 30 days or do not live near a VA facility. The bill also helps with incentives in order to attract more health care professionals and providers to the VA. The grant money will help establish a further presence of CAN DO's profitable business model within the state of Nevada and eventually help expand to other geographical locations within the United States. "In World War One, they called it shell shock. Second time around, they called it battle fatigue. After Vietnam, it was post-traumatic stress disorder. PTSD is a whole-body tragedy, an integral human event of enormous proportions with massive repercussions. Without treatment, soldiers suffering from PTSD face unemployment, domestic abuse, divorce, homelessness, and suicide. The prevalence of PTSD among Americans has become a silent epidemic. The funds granted from the Veterans Access Bill will help bring in professionals and providers to work along side the VA battle this plague, particularly among American veterans," said Director, Ronald J. Baltierra.
