Storage Elements digitiliti, a new paradigm in enterprise remote
data vaulting, announced today that architectural and engineering
firm Hammel, Green & Abrahamson Inc. has selected its advanced
storage infrastructure service to securely protect design and
engineering projects produced by more than 500 employees across six
U.S. locations. A full-service architecture, engineering and
planning firm with a 50-year history, HGA serves domestic and
international clients from multiple locations in California,
Minnesota and Wisconsin, creating voluminous amounts of data that
includes detailed project designs and the communications and
reports needed to support them. Growing tired of their inefficient
and expensive tape-based backup solution, HGA sought out a storage
solution that could help it transfer data files to an offsite
location without additional layers of complexity. And due to the
sensitive nature of company projects including public facilities
such as airports and public rail systems HGA required an off-site
storage provider who could offer long-term storage with the utmost
security. We were doing full backups every night and storing them
offsite, said Nancy Schmidt, director of IT at HGA. If we had to
restore, it would take hours or days to get the right file. It was
a mess. We looked at all the money we were spending for an
inefficient process and we started interviewing companies that did
disk-to-disk backup. We felt Digitiliti built the best mousetrap.
Digitiliti is cheaper than the tape and storage fees. We did a
cost-benefit analysis that shows weve enjoyed sizable savings.
Schmidt said HGA selected Digitilitis Enterprise Backup System
because of it offered security in a vault-protected,
climate-controlled Fortress Storage Center; its quick restore
capability; and an Exclusive Capacity Optimized Storage data
reduction process that not only increases speed and reduces disk
space while also reducing the cost of storage because Digitiliti
customers only pay for the amount of space in actual use. We were
able to address all of HGAs needs and concerns by offering a
solution that allowed them to easily and automatically protect
their entire network of data at one centralized vaulted data center
while helping them eliminate the cumbersome process of tape
management for their backup and restore operation, said Jon
Murphy, Digitilitis Executive Vice President, Sales. With the
expectation that data not only is saved forever but is also readily
accessible and restorable when needed, tape-based backup no longer
makes sense for organizations where an off-site tape warehouse is
physically inaccessible. Digitiliti provides the security,
efficiency and savings that multi-location organizations desire and
need. Digitiliti solves business problems that existing data
management solutions cant with its unique web-based solution.
Digitiliti offers a world-class data storage infrastructure that
includes superior block storage architecture, state-of-the-art
encryption and protection, Digitiliti data collection software and
offsite secure storage in its Fortress Storage Center with
up-to-the-second replication out of state to provide ultimate peace
of mind. A companys critical data is guaranteed safe, yet
accessible, allowing organizations the ability to back up or
restore anytime, anywhere. About Digitiliti digitiliti is a new
paradigm in enterprise remote data vaulting, providing on-demand
backup services featuring unlimited scalability to support
spiraling data growth rates across distributed network
infrastructures. First launched in 2003 as a software developer and
hardware integrator, Storage Elements, the company has repositioned
itself to focus solely on servicing the storage needs of
enterprise-level accounts. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Storage
Elements is the majority shareholder of Digitiliti, Inc.
(PINK:DIGI) that is a publicly-traded company and Storage Elements
is in the process of completing a merger with Digitiliti, Inc., at
which time its corporate identity will officially become
