Perine, an accomplished IT professional with substantial law enforcement and private sector experience, has joined the company as its Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining Viyya, Perine served for twenty years in the New York City Police Department (NYPD), most recently as project manager in the NYPD's Office of Technology and Systems Development, where he managed multi-million dollar technology projects at the NYPD's new, high-tech Real Time Crime Center. The NYPD Real Time Crime Center came to national prominence by leading the way for law enforcement technology in the post 9-11 world. During his tenure at the NYPD, Perine also served as a police officer, detective and sergeant, and spent the early part of his career in the Vice and Narcotics divisions of the NYPD's Organized Crime Control Bureau. Perine pioneered computer investigations within the NYPD while investigating Vice cases as a detective. He created and commanded the first Computer Crimes unit within the department in 1995 and later implemented and managed the first electronic case management system for the NYPD. Perine also has performed as a consultant, systems architect, and lead developer for both private and publicly held companies. He has developed incident management systems, commercial "off the shelf" software and esoteric research-based applications; and brings prior experience as both a CTO and COO in IT-based product companies.
