Ballistic Recovery Systems Delivers First Parachute on First Light Sport Special Flightstar Delivers the First Certified Light Sport CT With ASTM Standard Ballistic Parachute at Florida Airshow SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn., April 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc. (OTC:BRSI) (BULLETIN BOARD: BRSI) ( http://www.brsparachutes.com/ ), a whole-airplane parachute company, today announced the arrival of the first Light Sport Special aircraft at Sun-n-Fun Air Show in Lakeland, Florida along with Flightstar President Tom Peghiny. The arrival of this first FAA approved LSA factory built airplane shows that the industry can deliver on its promise to make more flying choices available and safer to a wider group of pilots and passengers. More LSA aircraft will be certified with the BRS system. The key to more planes having a BRS will be a collaborative effort between manufacturers. "This represents a new exciting era in aviation and BRS is very proud to be a founding player along with CT and Flightstar in raising the level of safety and passenger comfort," said Larry E. Williams, president and COO of BRS, Inc. "This is another stage in our growth and a significant milestone for the aviation industry. We plan to offer the same suite of products on many new emerging designs in this industry. Watching this technology be adopted by more and more manufacturers in a wider variety of aircraft is gratifying and should lead to more people flying." "Flightstar has worked very hard to ensure that BRS systems are integrated and factory installed on planes delivered in the United States under this new regulation," stated Tom Peghiny - President of Flightstar and the importer of the European made CT-2 aircraft. "The arrival of that plane with all the testing, documentation and certification completed in time for the traditional first aviation event of the year was gratifying to see. We are working hard to deliver as many planes as possible as quickly as we finish installations." Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc. is a South St. Paul, Minnesota based company that designs, manufactures and distributes whole-plane emergency parachute systems for use on general aviation and recreational aircraft. Since the early 1980's, BRS has delivered nearly 20,000 parachute systems to aircraft owners around the world, including over 1,900 systems on certified aircraft like the Cirrus Design aircraft manufactured in Duluth, Minnesota. Actual documented uses of BRS systems are credited with saving the lives of 177 people. Earlier this week, BRS also signed a strategic business alliance agreement with Symphony Aircraft Industries. The joint agreement allows SAI to fast track the first factory installations and make the Three Rivers Quebec, Canada based airplane company the first certificated high-wing design to offer the BRS on board parachute system factory installed.
