Captaris, Inc. (NASDAQ:CAPA), a leading provider of software
products that automate document-centric processes today announced
Captaris RightFax received certification by the Defense Information
Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) to
become the only fax automation solution named on JITC's Approved
Product List (APL). "JITC testing is the gold standard for
information assurance and integration within the government," said
Bob Wood, Regional Vice President of North American Sales with
Captaris. "Successful testing demonstrates RightFax effectively
secures data and images while integrating with the open, but
extensive DoD enterprise architecture." As a support agency to the
United States Department of Defense (DoD), DISA and its JITC
division evaluate 10 points over a six-week period to confirm
system interoperability and security within the DoD network. The
result ensures information is shared effectively and remains
secure, even across military or agency boundaries. Another DoD
agency and long-time RightFax user, Defense Finance and Accounting
Services (DFAS), sponsored RightFax JITC certification and served
as a technical contributor. RightFax passed all the requirements,
including IP application, security, and telephony integration
testing. It is the first JITC-certified application to span both IP
and telephony networks. Engineers from DFAS, Captaris, Dialogic and
Booz Allen Hamilton, a global strategy and technology consulting
firm in Virginia, combined efforts to arrange and deploy the test
environment. The approved DFAS configuration includes an HP server,
T1 1034 Brooktrout fax card and RightFax Enterprise Server. Testing
was initialized at a U.S. Air Force software testing center in San
Antonio, Texas, then completed at the Fort Huachuca, Ariz., JITC
facility. The Approved Products List (APL), available online at
http://jitc.fhu.disa.mil/apl/, is a resource for federal agencies
and departments. "The APL offers an increased level of confidence,
related to Information Assurance (IA) and/or InterOperability (IO),
to users in the Joint community who select and buy communications
equipment to implement for immediate solutions," according to the
JITC web site. About Captaris, Inc. Captaris, Inc. is a leading
