Volcanic Metals Corporation (TSX VENTURE: VOL) ("Volcanic") is pleased to announce that James M. Dawson has joined Volcanic's Advisory Board as technical advisor to the company's current exploration of the historic Gjegjan Mining District.

James M. Dawson, M.Sc., P.Eng. is a consulting geologist with over 45 years experience. Mr. Dawson has been involved in the exploration and evaluation of numerous mineral properties in over 15 countries. Notable achievements include involvement in the discovery of the Blackdome Mine and Clisbako epithermal gold deposits in British Columbia, the Alisotos iron oxide copper-gold district in Mexico and the Diamante-Los Patos and Bororo Nuevo uranium deposits in Argentina. Mr. Dawson has been a director of Minefinders Corporation since 1996, is on the advisory board of Kaminak Gold and the executive boards of Kivalliq Energy Corp. and Wealth Minerals Ltd. He is President of Dawson Geological Consulting Ltd.

John LaGourgue, Volcanic's President and Chief Operating Officer states, "It is very fortuitous to have the expertise and knowledge that Mr. Dawson brings to Volcanic as we begin our aggressive field program within the Gjegjan District. In concert with the world-class technical team we have on-board already, Mr. Dawson's experience will be invaluable as we conduct the first ever large-scale and modern exploration of this prolific historically producing copper district."

Jonathan Richards has also been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Richards was previously an audit manager at a premier Canadian chartered accountant firm where he specialized in the mining industry. Mr. Richards has significant accounting experience working with mineral exploration and development companies in Albania, Canada and throughout the world. Mr. Richards completed a bachelor of management studies degree with first-class honours from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, and gained his membership of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2005. In addition to audit experience, Mr. Richards is also the chief financial officer of a number of other public mineral exploration and development companies.

Allan Stronach has resigned as Chief Financial Officer. The company thanks him for his hard work and dedication to Volcanic during his tenure over the past few years.
