MPZ Mpl Communications (Tier2)

MPL Communications Inc. (TSX VENTURE: MPZ) advises that trading in its common shares was halted this afternoon by the TSX Venture Exchange.

The TSXV instituted a compliance review of MPL's affairs in early September, expressing dissatisfaction with elements of MPL's corporate governance practices and continuous disclosure. MPL does not agree with the TSX's position and gave a full response by the requested response date. The TSXV replied that MPL's response was neither complete nor satisfactory. MPL disagrees but intends to work with the TSXV towards a resumption of trading. A further announcement will be made as events require it.

MPL is an internationally recognized independent investment advisory publisher of nine investment advisory newsletters, an investment newspaper published twice monthly, an investment advisory web site and an on-line equity research service. MPL also publishes two non-financial newsletters for health and dental professionals. Almost all subscribers are located in Canada.
