BPV Bridgeport Ventures Inc. (Tier2)

Bridgeport Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE: BPV) ("Bridgeport") is pleased to announce that a 10,000 metre diamond drill program on its Rosario property near Copiapo, Chile will commence on March 1, 2010. The planned program will also cover Bridgeport's Tamara, Soesmi and Simonetta properties, which are adjacent to its Rosario property.

A 3 km long zone of mineralization will be evaluated to a depth of 300 metres in the initial phase of the drill program from Simonetta in the east to Soesmi in the west. Drill targets have been established by Bridgeport's exploration team based on a program of geological mapping and sampling, which commenced on the property in early January. Hole siting was further refined through a review of a recently acquired geophysical survey of the Rosario property.

Numerous distinct zones of copper-gold mineralization have been identified on the properties by surface and underground mine workings, hydrothermal alteration, copper showings and geochemical rock chip sampling. In addition, sulphide ore trucked from Rosario to the nearby ENAMI plant over the past 18 months had a weighted average grade of 2.05% copper and 0.79 gms/ton gold.

Dr. Matthew Gray, President of Resource Geosciences expressed the view that the property has the potential to host bulk mineable copper-gold deposits in a technical report of the Rosario property dated November 27, 2009 as amended December 4, 2009 and entitled "Summary Report on the Rosario Copper-Gold Project, Region III, Atacama, Chile". The report was in compliance with National Instrument 43-101 of the Canadian Securities Administrators and is available for review on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.

Hugh Snyder, Chairman and CEO of Bridgeport, stated "Rosario presents an outstanding exploration opportunity for discovery of a large copper-gold deposit in a geological terrain, which is host to a number of major mines in the area. The Rosario property itself has never been drilled."
