MINExpo (Booth #723) - Gemcom Software International Inc. (TSX:GCM), the largest
global supplier of specialised mining productivity solutions, today announced
Gemcom GEMS(TM) 6.2, the latest version of its collaborative geology, mine
planning, production scheduling and data management software. This enhanced
product will be available by the end of 2008 and will offer a range of new
features focused on driving productivity.

Gemcom GEMS 6.2 features include:

- A new geostatistics module designed with increased usability, which is shared
with Gemcom Surpac(TM) 6.1 and Gemcom Minex(TM) 5.3, delivering better
visualisation and improved functionality;

- Enhanced block modelling and comprehension capabilities which reduces the data
footprint 10 to 100 times. This breakthrough technology allows users to connect
to their data and graphic visualisations quickly, even in operations with very
large amounts of data; and

- Many ease-of-use features enabling users to become proficient with the
software faster.

"Our migration to GEMS with Microsoft SQL Server brought separate databases
together, so that everybody could work on the current data set. Now we have
everything in one controlled, protected structure, along with better
collaboration and communication among our departments," stated Renaud Adams,
vice president and general manager, IAMGOLD Corporation. "Having GEMS here is an
advantage from a human resources standpoint. The software has worldwide
recognition, so it will be much easier to find people already trained in GEMS
compared to other software."

"Gemcom has a strong commitment to research and development initiatives that
improve user efficiency through better database management and incorporating
best-of-breed technologies across our product lines, as demonstrated in our new
geostatistics module," stated Rob Ferguson, Gemcom's product line manager,
general mine planning. "Among the many benefits of being a Gemcom client is our
ongoing technology investment and the expertise of our large global research and
development team, who continuously push the boundaries of what's possible in
mining software."

Gemcom today also announced new versions of four other products: Gemcom
MineSched(TM) 6.0, Gemcom Surpac 6.1, Gemcom Whittle(TM) 4.2, and Gemcom Minex
5.3. Detailed information on each of these products announced today by Gemcom is

2008 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
