BUDAPEST--Hungarian energy group MOL Nyrt. (MOl.BU) has signed
an exploration and production-sharing agreement with the government
of the Sultanate of Oman, MOL said Monday.
MAIN FACTS:
-Block 66 is an onshore block in Western Oman spanning 4,899
square kilometers.
-MOL was awarded the explroation rights, having won the
bidding.
-MOL will conduct a six-year exploration project on the site
-MOL said it was optimistic about the venture as previous
explorations in the vicinity of block 66 have been successful.
-"Our aim is to build up a sizeable exploration and production
portfolio, in line with MOL's organic growth strategy. To achieve
this, we are continuously seeking new investment opportunities,"
Sandor Fasimon, executive vice president of the company's
exploration and production division said.
