SRA Assists Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation With Launch of
eGovernment Premium Filing System My PAA Online Self-Service Center
Provides Secure Alternative to Paper-Based Filings and Payments
FAIRFAX, Va., April 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SRA International,
Inc. , a leading provider of information technology (IT) services
and solutions to the federal government, today announced the
successful implementation of My Plan Administration Account (My
PAA), an online e-filing service center developed for the Pension
Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). My PAA is available on PBGC's
Web site (http://www.pbgc.gov/). PBGC is responsible for protecting
the pensions of 44 million American workers and retirees in more
than 31,000 private-sector defined benefit pension plans. Companies
that sponsor this type of pension plan are required by law to
submit premium filings (i.e., forms) and payments to PBGC every
year. Currently, plan sponsors, administrators and pension
practitioners use a paper-based filing process to make these
submissions. With My PAA, premium filers use an efficient and
secure electronic alternative to the existing paper-based system to
submit filings through the Internet. My PAA allows any premium
payer toestablish an online account, create a filing and route it
to multiple team members for their input and digital signature and
submit the filing and payment to PBGC via a secure Web site.
According to Hazel Broadnax, PBGC's chief financial officer, "My
PAA is a key first step in our plan sponsor eGovernment
initiatives. Enabling customers to conduct key business
transactions in a secure online environment increases efficiency.
We listened to the practitioner community and automated a very
important business function, which has made the premium submissions
process more efficient and effective." SRA has been a provider of
IT services to PBGC since 2001 and was the sole contractor on the
My PAA project. The SRA team performed a broad range of system
development services including business case and strategy
development, requirements and design, system programming, testing,
and deployment of the eGovernment solution. "SRA is pleased to
support this important eGovernment initiative and continue a
successful working relationship with PBGC," said SRA Chief
Executive Officer and Chairman Ernst Volgenau. "My PAA provides a
practical solution that streamlines PBGC's premium filing process.
We are proud to be supporting PBGC in its efforts to automate its
key business functions and meet the challenges of the Government
Paperwork Elimination Act." About SRA International, Inc. SRA is a
