The key gasoline-making unit at Hovensa's refinery on the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Croix was taken out of service Wednesday for scheduled turnaround maintenance, the company said Thursday.

The 150,000-barrels-a-day fluid catalytic cracking unit is expected to return to service in early March, company spokesman Alex Moorhead said.

Exxon Mobil Corp.'s (XOM) refinery in Baytown, Texas, Thursday reported a brief power outage had occurred at its sulfur unit, according to a filing with state environmental regulators.

Exxon's Baton Rouge, La., refinery reported a sulfur incident Wednesday but the company declined to say what sort of impact it had on operations.

BP PLC (BP) said Wednesday that it restarted tje ultracracker at its Texas City, Texas, oil refinery after it was shut unexpectedly Monday, according to a filing to state environmental regulators.

Holly Corp. (HOC) reported Monday that a fire damaged its crude unit at its Artesia New Mexico plant over the weekend.

The fire was put out in one hour and the unit should be repaired in about three weeks, the company said in a news release.
