(NYSE:NMX), set daily volume records yesterday for total natural gas futures contracts traded via electronic and open outcry trading and natural gas futures contracts traded on the CME Globex electronic trading platform. Total natural gas futures, via electronic and open outcry trading, reached 403,106 contracts, surpassing the 327,942 contracts traded on July 17. Natural gas futures on CME Globex traded 357,443 contracts, topping the 293,656 contracts traded on July 17. NYMEX launched its physically settled futures contracts for trading on CME Globex during regular open outcry trading hours on September 5, 2006, following its initial offering of financially settled, standard-sized and NYMEX miNY energy futures contracts for trading on CME Globex on June 12, 2006. On December 4, 2006, NYMEX introduced full-sized and COMEX miNY metals futures contracts for side by side trading. Options trading launched on CME Globex on June 25.
