Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd. will issue a subordinated straight bond to individual investors, documents filed at the Japanese Finance Ministry's Kanto Local Finance Bureau showed Monday.

The wholesale and investment banking unit of Mizuho Financial Group Inc. (8411.TO), will issue subordinated straight bonds of which the amount and annual coupon haven't been decided, but the annual coupon will be tentatively set at 2.38-3.38%. The final rate will be set on Feb. 16.

The principal of the bonds matures on March 16, 2017.

Mizuho said the bond issuance is a part of efforts to strengthen its capital base.
