Rotterdam, 3 October 2013 - Stedin works daily on continuous and safe energy provision. The network operator works with various contractors to carry out maintenance and inspections, resolve faults or construct new networks. Stedin is intending to award these activities in the eastern section of the Province of Utrecht to technical services provider, Royal Imtech.

Delta Infra is working on the Stedin networks on the South Holland island of Goeree-Overflakkee. Joulz is the contractor in other parts of South Holland, Utrecht, Kennemerland, North East Friesland and Weert. "A constant energy supply for our customers is our point of departure", said Technology Director Ernst Japikse of Stedin.

"Quality, innovation and the right price come first. I think awarding the work to a third contractor fits within this. In my opinion it helps us promote the professionalism of our contractors and of Stedin as commissioning party. Especially as they also provide standard fault resolution standby duties in this important area" said Japikse.

Stedin selects contractor via European tender.
Three parties were selected by Stedin following a European tender. The network operator is intending to award the work to Royal Imtech. According to planning, Imtech will start work in the second quarter of 2014.

This means that Imtech instead of Joulz will resolve energy network faults via standby duty in the Amsterfoort, Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Veendendaal and Zeist regions. They will also undertake regular network maintenance, inspection and construction.

Royal Imtech is delighted with Stedin's intention to award this contract to Imtech. "It is evidence of our chosen concept's quality and our organisation's professionalism. The arrival of new energy concepts will bring further market developments. As innovative player, Imtech will focus more on offering technical solutions in the area of energy infrastructure." said Paul van Gelder, Royal Imtech Board of Management.
