CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 10, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Goodrich
Corporation's (NYSE: GR) Engineered Polymer Products (EPP) team
announced a $60,000 pledge to the
Greater Jacksonville Area United Service Organizations (USO) to
support USO activities for U.S. armed forces personnel and their
families. The USO is a private, non-profit organization supported
entirely by private citizens and corporations. The USO assists
local military personnel and their families in adjusting to new
surroundings and provides numerous services from its three USO
Centers in the Jacksonville,
Florida area. It also plays an active role in
coordinating local civilian community resources and fostering
general civilian interest in the welfare of U.S. armed forces
personnel and their families. More information on the Greater
Jacksonville Area USO can be found at: www.jaxuso.org.
"In addition to this financial contribution, we will continue to
support honorable activities such as preparing and serving meals at
the Mayport USO Center to the families of deployed servicemen and
women and veterans in our community," said Jim Pollock, EPP vice president. "We are proud
to be affiliated with the Greater Jacksonville Area USO in helping
fulfill its mission to U.S. military personnel and their families:
'Until Every One Comes Home.'"
The pledge is just the latest example of Goodrich's support of
the Greater Jacksonville Area USO, according to executive director
John Shockley. "Our motto in
Jacksonville is 'Help on the
Homefront' and Goodrich employees have done a tremendous job
supporting the USO and its mission of providing morale, welfare,
and recreation-style services to our men and women in uniform,"
Shockley said. "We are grateful to Goodrich for its continued
commitment to the USO's work in our community. Goodrich's
commitment represents the most generous long-term commitment from
