DirecTV's (DTV) Chief Executive Michael White said he doubts there are opportunities for the satellite-TV operator to increase its stake in a Mexico joint-venture with Group Televisa S.A.B.

"I'd love to own more of it, but I don't think Televisa is at all interested in selling more at this time," Mr. White told investors at a media industry conference in New York.

Mr. White's comments come as DirecTV continues to expand its footprint in Latin America, which it eyes as a promising growth market to offset slower growth in the U.S.

DirecTV shares traded 0.02% lower at $52.34; the shares are up around 26% over the last year.
