MJSA Expo New York is Going Green with Constellation Energy Renewable Energy Certificates

Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG), the nation's leading
competitive electricity supplier, today announced it will supply
Green-e Energy certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) from
wind energy facilities to MJSA Expo New York on March 13-15.
“Constellation Energy welcomes the opportunity to demonstrate
our commitment to renewable energy while also driving demand for
new, clean wind power by matching 100 percent of MJSA Expo’s
electricity usage with RECs from wind energy facilities in the
United States,” said Michael Kagan, Chief Retail Sales officer for
Constellation Energy, the endorsed energy supplier for MJSA.
“We are excited to announce our first 100 percent Green Expo and
promote renewable energy certificates to MJSA members,” said David
Cochran, president and chief executive officer of MJSA. “RECs are
an easy way for businesses to support renewable energy generation
and demonstrate a commitment to operate in an environmentally
responsible manner.”
A REC represents the environmental benefits of electricity
generated by wind, solar or other renewable power facilities. By
matching the electricity used at this MJSA event with RECs,
Constellation avoids 279,713 pounds of carbon dioxide
emissions.
MJSA, the U.S. trade association for jewelry makers, designers,
and related suppliers, based in Attleboro Falls, Massachusetts,
organizes the Expo, which is the industry’s largest and oldest
trade show dedicated to jewelry design and manufacturing.
Attendance at the trade show in New York City likely will exceed
3,000.
MJSA announced last month that it had selected Constellation
Energy as the endorsed energy supplier for MJSA’s 1,500 members.
Constellation Energy offers a portfolio of energy management
products, ranging from competitive electricity supply to renewable
energy certificates and demand response programs (which compensate
users for reducing energy use during periods of peak demand).
Organizations may use RECs to reduce their indirect greenhouse
gas emissions and help support the operation and development of
domestic sources of cleaner, renewable energy.
