Constellation Energy Gives Record $4.1 Million to 2005 United Way Campaigns

BALTIMORE, March 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Constellation Energy
(NYSE:CEG) today announced that the company and its employees
continued their tradition of generous community support by
contributing more than $4.1 million to the 2005 Central Maryland
United Way Campaign. Constellation Energy continues to hold the
distinction as central Maryland's largest and most successful
private sector campaign as well as the campaign with the largest
number of donors who contribute $10,000 or more. Together with
Constellation Energy's corporate matching gift program of 50 cents
for every dollar contributed, 2005 United Way Campaign donations
were up 14 percent from last year's $3.6 million. Constellation
Energy's worldwide employee contributions made up $2.7 million of
the total contribution, topping last year's $2.4 million. Nearly
$2.7 million will be allocated to the United Way of Central
Maryland, with the remaining balance being provided to other United
Way campaigns where Constellation Energy has operations. "Our

supporting the many social causes and programs that help make our

Additionally, more than 800 Constellation Energy employees
participated in several United Way sponsored fundraising and
