Germany's Deutsche Bank AG (DB) isn't interested in acquiring KBC Group NV's (KBC.BT) private bank unit, a person familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires Monday.

French business daily La Tribune reported Monday that European banks including Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse Group (CS) and Societe Generale SA (GLE.FR) were interested in acquiring KBC private bank, citing unspecified sources.

Deutsche Bank, which is Germany's largest bank by market capitalization, is already widely seen as the most likely acquirer for the Sempra commodities trading business of Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (RBS).

As part of efforts to expand its business and gain market share in the wake of the financial crisis, Deutsche Bank last year announced plans to acquire private bank Sal. Oppenheim Jr. & Cie as well as the commercial banking assets of ABN Amro Holding NV in the Netherlands.
