Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc. ("Varian") (NASDAQ: VSEA) announced today that it has received a key supplier award presented by Hynix Semiconductor for 2010. The award was given to Varian at Hynix Partner's Day 2010 that was held on October 26, 2010 in Korea.

This award represents the culmination of many years of cooperative technical partnership between Varian and Hynix. Varian was given this honor in recognition of its superior level of collaboration with Hynix to rapidly develop and ramp advanced processes into manufacturing using Varian's market leading Single Wafer High Current, Medium Current, High Energy and Plasma Doping products.
