Celebrate Technology held its annual awards event Friday, Oct. 6,
2007. SpectraLink took home the Technology Manufacturing award.
Judges reviewed nominations for 10 Colorado companies in the
category and evaluated factors such as revenue stream,
Colorado-based facilities, headcount and manufacturing visibility.
"Celebrate Technology gives Colorado technology professionals an
opportunity to share experiences and lessons learned. We also fund
scholarships for students in the College of Engineering and Applied
Science at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs," said
David Steigerwald, member of the Celebrate Technology board of
directors. "SpectraLink has been a member of the local technology
landscape and an avid supporter for education in the areas of math
and science. It's an honor to award a company that is a leader in
its industry and also values the local community." "This
recognition is a true testament to the hard work of SpectraLink
employees," said John Elms, SpectraLink president and CEO. "We have
a fantastic team of people dedicated to bringing quality products
to market, and I am honored to represent a company that continues
to be recognized as a market leader, technology leader and
community leader." Since the company's inception in 1990, it has
been an innovator in manufacturing high-tech electronics.
SpectraLink employs Six Sigma and lean manufacturing techniques in
its facilities. Additionally, the company has been using lead-free
components for approximately five years. With the recent emphasis
on environmentally-safe manufacturing components, this practice
gave SpectraLink a head-start on complying with the European
Union's RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) directive.
Finally, in February 2006, SpectraLink consolidated all
manufacturing operations including production, shipping/receiving,
purchasing, planning, quality assurance and product repair into a
single facility in Boulder. About SpectraLink SpectraLink, the
