SBS Technologies(R) (NASDAQ: SBSE) -- Seven AdvancedMC slots -- PCI
Express x8 interface over cable -- Plug and play-no software
drivers to load or support -- Supports Hot Swap capability Today at
SuperComm 2005, SBS Technologies(R) (NASDAQ: SBSE), a leading
provider of one of the broadest lines of data and communication
products in the embedded industry, announced its first PCIE-AMC-7S
PCI Express-to-AdvancedMC(TM) expansion system, offering system
designers an uncomplicated way to test or add multiple AdvancedMC
modules to a standard PCI Express-based host computer. The
PCIE-AMC-7S expansion system is compliant with AMC.0 and AMC.1,
Revision 1. The PCIE-AMC-7S' PCI Express host card extends the PCI
Express interface to an external cable connection. Brought over the
cable to the expansion chassis, the PCI Express interface connects
to a PCI Express backplane controller for the PCI Express system.
The backplane controller slot sustains an 8-port PCI Express switch
that supports the seven AdvancedMC slots. "SBS has a long history
of delivering quality, reliable expansion products. We leveraged
that expertise to create this high-throughput expansion system that
lets system designers add more AdvancedMC-based I/O capability, or
test engineers to test up to 7 AdvancedMCs without taking down the
system to change cards," said Bill Molyneux, Vice President and
General Manager of SBS General Purpose I/O Products. "Engineers can
count on SBS for AdvancedMC products that meet their most demanding
customers' requirements." The PCIE-AMC-7S expansion system consists
of an x8 PCI Express host card, a 7-slot AdvancedMC chassis with
backplane controller and cabling to connect the host card and
controller. The backplane supports five x4 PCI Express/AdvancedMC
slots and two x2 PCI Express/AdvancedMC slots configured in a
flexible mix of half height and full height, single wide AdvancedMC
slots. Price and Availability: Available for order now, OEM pricing
for the PCIE-AMC-7S is US$1995. About SBS Technologies(R) SBS
