STEWARTVILLE, Minn.,
May 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Rochester Medical Corporation (NASDAQ:ROCM) is pleased to announce
an addition to its Magic3 Intermittent Catheter line with
the launch of the Magic3 Hydrophilic Intermittent Catheter
with Coude Tip and Insertion Sleeve.
This new catheter is the very latest Magic3technology. It
provides the added benefits of the touch-free gripping device,
combined with a specially designed curved tip configuration.
The Coude tip is designed to aid insertion, especially around
natural curves within the urethra. Coude tip catheters are often
used by men with an enlarged prostate, narrowing of the urethra, or
bladder neck contractures. Magic3 intermittent catheters
leverage Rochester Medical's proprietary m3 technology to deliver
the benefits of a three-layer all-silicone design. They are
the first Coude intermittent catheters created and crafted from a
composition of three distinct functional layers. Each
uniquely formulated layer independently addresses a particular
product attribute required for comfortable, easy, and reliable
intermittent catheterization.
In this new offering, Rochester Medical has incorporated
additional important design enhancements. The patent-pending
insertion sleeve provides touch-free insertion while allowing the
user to firmly grip the catheter surface, making it easier to
maneuver. The insertion sleeve is sterilized and located
inside the packaging. This new feature is designed to provide
the user more control while minimizing risk of contamination while
catheterizing.
Kicking-off a comprehensive sales campaign, Rochester Medical
has begun rolling out the new Magic3 Coude in the U.S. via
introductions to its distribution partners and targeted clinical
call points.
The Magic3 catheters are available in male (16") length
and in diameters ranging from 10Fr to 18Fr. Most state
Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance companies will cover
these advanced catheters; local product suppliers can provide
details about specific payor sources. Additional product and
ordering information is available by contacting Rochester Medical
at 1-800-243-3315 or info@rocm.com.
For over two decades, Rochester Medical Corporation has been
developing, manufacturing, and marketing latex-free and PVC-free
disposable medical devices for urological and continence care
applications. Manufactured in the USA with an environmentally conscious design,
the all-silicone Magic3 Intermittent Catheter with Coude Tip
and Insertion Sleeve is yet another example of the Company's
commitment to providing innovative solutions to address the needs
of patients, caregivers, and clinicians.
