SAN DIEGO, April 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareholder Rights
Law Firm Johnson & Weaver, LLP is investigating potential
violations of the federal securities laws by Natus Medical
Incorporated (NASDAQ: BABY) and certain of its officers. Natus
designs, manufactures and markets newborn care and neurology
healthcare products and services worldwide.
Specifically, Johnson & Weaver's investigation seeks to
determine whether certain statements regarding Natus' business and
prospects were false and misleading when made.
The investigation concerns whether Natus disclosed the risk that
certain key government supply contracts would, if cancelled, cause
a material decline in the Company's revenues and profitability. On
April 4, 2016, Natus announced that
revenue for the first quarter of 2016 is expected to be
approximately $87.5 million versus
previous guidance of $91.5 million to $92.5
million. Jim Hawkins,
President and CEO, stated, "Pushouts of key orders in both our
international and domestic markets led to weaker than expected
revenue late in the first quarter". Hawkins further acknowledged,
"In addition, we did not have any revenue associated with the
Venezuela Ministry of Health contract as we did not receive any
prepayments during the quarter". On this news, shares of
Natus fell from a close of $39.64 on
April 1, 2016 to close at
$31.84 per share the following
trading day.
