Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. (NDAQ) hired Eric W. Noll, a former executive with Susquehanna International Group LLP, to head its transaction services business, the exchange operator said Monday.

The appointment fills the spot vacated by Chris Concannon, who left Nasdaq OMX in April to join a proprietary trading firm.

Noll previously was a managing director and global head of strategic relationships at Susquehanna, a job that included handling the company's relationships with financial exchanges.

Noll has also worked for the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and the Chicago Board Options Exchange.

The transaction services position at Nasdaq OMX covers the exchange's U.S. equity and options markets, as well as its derivatives ventures. The latter includes the International Derivatives Clearing Group, a new facility set up to clear interest rate swap trades.

Noll will join Nasdaq OMX on July 13 and will report to Chief Executive Bob Greifeld.

Nasdaq OMX shares were 3.1% lower Monday, at $19.82.
