WALTHAM, Mass., March 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Novell today
announced that senior vice president, chief marketing officer and
channel chief, John Dragoon has been named a Channel Chief by
Everything Channel's CRN Magazine. Channel Chiefs are
leaders in creating effective channel programs for solution
providers. They consistently innovate, promote and execute
effective channel partner programs and strategies. Dragoon was
honored for his leadership of significant, effective improvements
to Novell PartnerNet®, Novell's solution provider program.
In 2010, Dragoon led a cross-functional effort to move Novell
PartnerNet to a value-oriented program resulting in a more
extensive and balanced portfolio of partners who receive
investments and benefits based on competence, invoiced or
influenced revenue and customer satisfaction in three
specializations and three medallion levels (Platinum, Gold and
Silver). The global program also established a framework for
identifying and applying an appropriate level of resources to
secure and grow partner performance and success.
This year's Channel Chiefs were chosen by Everything Channel's
editorial team based on criteria including policy and program
innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue
companies generate through partners, their willingness to speak out
publicly on behalf of the channel and the number of years they have
dedicated to channel activities.
"I am honored to accept this recognition from Everything Channel
on behalf of Novell and its partners for making our PartnerNet
program a mutually rewarding exchange of value," said John Dragoon,
senior vice president, chief marketing officer and channel chief at
Novell. "If 2010 was about transforming our program toward a
value-oriented model, 2011 is about simplification and innovation.
While continuing to make it easy to work with Novell we're also
completing support for additional partner business models such as
cloud service providers and managed service providers that are
critical to WorkloadIQ™, our approach to intelligent workload
management."
"Being named a Channel Chief is one of the most prestigious
honors in the IT industry. This year's Channel Chiefs offer
tremendous insight into the who's who of the Channel," said
Kelley Damore, VP, Executive
Director, Everything Channel. "Top channel executives consistently
ensure that the Channel's voice is heard when strategic decisions
are being made and continually nurture mutually profitable
relationships. We applaud this year's Channel Chiefs for their
successful partner relationships and strategies."
