CANTON, Mass., Sept. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NEI (NASDAQ: NEI),
a leading provider of application platforms, deployment solutions
and lifecycle support services for software technology developers
and OEMs worldwide, today announced that Mavenir Systems, a leading
innovator of mobile infrastructure solutions for LTE operators,
chose NEI to help manage its platform transition from systems using
Intel's previous generation Westmere microprocessors to the new
Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2400 product family for its mOne®
Convergence Platform.
The Mavenir mOne® Convergence Platform provides a very scalable,
high-capacity carrier-grade software solution running on
industry-standard AdvancedTCA (ATCA) hardware. The new
microprocessors increase nodal capacity by approximately 30 – 60
percent, depending on the applications. Mavenir's mOne® enables
mobile service providers to deliver voice, video and messaging
services seamlessly across existing networks, including VoLTE, Rich
Communication Suite (RCS) and Circuit Switch Fall Back (CSFB), and
allows them to generate increased revenue, reduce network costs,
improve subscriber satisfaction, reduce subscriber churn and
improve time-to-market.
Mavenir chose the Intel® Xeon® E5-2400 processor family for the
enhanced mOne® Convergence Platform largely due to its impressive
performance benefits. The next generation of 64-bit, multi-core
enterprise processors built on 32-nanometer technology, the Intel®
Xeon® E5-2400 processor family excels at delivering a substantial
amount of processing power with the added benefit of reducing
overall footprint and power consumption while enhancing
reliability.
NEI's hardware and advanced integration expertise enabled
Mavenir to streamline the process of upgrading its hardware to the
new E5-2400 processor family and to take full advantage of its
enhanced new features, software changes and more. As a result,
Mavenir was able to substantially reduce time to market with a
performance-optimized product featuring the latest Intel
microprocessor technology. In addition, Mavenir used NEI's
regulatory services to accelerate NEBS and ETSI certifications and
international homologation.
"NEI helped us to leverage the very best in new technology while
driving down the barriers to integration, including solution design
and system integration, as well as regulatory testing and
international trade compliance," said Terry
McCabe, CTO at Mavenir. "NEI's deep integration expertise
helped in transitioning the mOne® Convergence Platform to the new
E5-2400 product family in a matter of weeks."
"Mavenir is a long-standing customer of NEI's due to our very
successful history of providing appliance technology, products and
services tailored to the entire lifecycle of the company's
applications," said Jeff Hudgins,
vice president of marketing at NEI. "We believe that the new
Sandy Bridge microarchitecture has
tremendous potential, and we are pleased to help early adopter
customers such as Mavenir gain a competitive edge by delivering
continuous improvements in performance, energy efficiency, security
and scalability."
