First sale of tax product in State of Virginia * Second major GRM
sale for Manatron KALAMAZOO, Mich., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/
-- Manatron, Inc. (NASDAQ:MANA) a leading provider of software
products and services for local governments, including the
revolutionary Government Revenue Management(TM) or (GRM(TM))
software, today announced that it has received a contract totaling
$4.5 million over six years from the City of Virginia Beach for its
GRM software and related services. This contract is the Company's
fifth significant GRM sale, following the $5.5 million award from
Gwinnett County, Georgia nearly one year ago. Manatron's GRM system
is designed to support the entire property life cycle including
Records, GIS Integration, Valuation, Assessment Administration, Tax
Billing and Collection, Delinquents and Tax Sales. GRM automates
the operational, information and planning needs for Assessors,
Auditors, Treasurers, Tax Collectors, Recorders and other state and
local governmental officials. Developed using the Company's
iFramework toolset, the software can more easily be modified as
technology changes or to include additional states as the Company
enters new markets. The City of Virginia Beach is one of the
fastest growing jurisdictions in Virginia with a population in
excess of 400,000 and approximately 180,000 parcels. Sharon
Vaughan, the City of Virginia Beach Project Director commented,
"Throughout our very disciplined selection process, Manatron
continued to demonstrate their understanding of our comprehensive
requirements and objectives. Manatron's shared vision with the City
of Virginia Beach for the complete integration of our property
management systems was obvious throughout the selection process.
Implementation of this new system will enable the City to
accurately and cost effectively serve the needs of our taxpayers
and property owners." Manatron President and CEO Paul Sylvester,
commented, "This completes one of the most systematic selection
processes we have ever been involved with, which started well over
a year ago. The City of Virginia Beach did a lot of research and
followed a very detailed, specific RFP process to ensure that they
found the best partner and solution for their needs. I am very
pleased that our company and our GRM solution came out on top when
they were compared to other options. The contract with the City of
Virginia Beach is a significant extension of our market presence in
Virginia and will be our first Manatron Tax site in that State. We
currently have 31 jurisdictions in Virginia using Manatron CAMA,
which will be natural sales opportunities for Manatron Tax." About
