KALAMAZOO, Mich., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Manatron, Inc. (NASDAQ:MANA) a leading provider of software products and services for local governments, including the recently introduced Government Revenue Management(R) (GRM(R)) software, today announced that it has received a new contract from Clay County, Missouri for its Manatron Ascend(R) Property Tax solution and related Web software. The contract includes approximately $750,000 of software license fees and implementation services, as well as nearly $600,000 for support and maintenance for six years. Manatron Ascend is a powerful and flexible property tax billing and collection solution for tax collection officials. Manatron Ascend provides the functionality to maintain, bill, collect, distribute and track property accounts and associated taxes. Using the most up-to-date technology and built on the Microsoft platform, Ascend allows Tax Collectors the ability to manage real property, personal property, manufactured structures, motor vehicles and special assessments. Manatron acquired the Ascend product in connection with its acquisition of ASIX, Inc. on February 1, 2006. The Ascend Web solution includes on-line processing of real and personal property tax payments, as well as access to extensive property data. With a population of more than 200,000 and approximately 92,000 parcels, Clay County is the fifth largest county in Missouri and falls right in the sweet spot of Manatron's client base. They are located in northwestern Missouri including Kansas City and are one of the fastest growing counties in the Midwest. Clay joins Jackson County (downtown Kansas City) as an Ascend customer, who has been using this software since early 2000. "We were absolutely thrilled to select Manatron to provide a Property Tax solution and related web-based services for us," said Sandra Reeves, Clay County Collector of Revenue. "Long-term, we know their Ascend software product will ultimately save us thousands of work hours and countless dollars. This new software will also allow us to collect property taxes for the cities within Clay County thus saving those communities money as well. Manatron's technology is a strong and adaptable solution for us and will increase our efficiency as the county continues to grow. We look forward to going live with Ascend in 2007." "Clay County is a significant new account and key contract for Manatron," said Paul Sylvester, Manatron's Chief Executive Officer. "It is our first major Manatron Ascend contract win since we acquired ASIX in February. As a result of this acquisition, we have an excellent Property Tax solution that is currently available for Missouri and certain other of our key markets. Accordingly, we have stepped up our sales efforts to build off the success we have had in Missouri and are pleased to be able to support two very high profile clients in that state. Manatron is currently in the process of implementing our Ascend Web solution for Jackson County. We expect that Clay County will also benefit from these efforts, as well as other counties that follow their lead in the future. We look forward to a mutually rewarding, long-standing relationship with Sandra and Clay County and are already making plans to get started with this important implementation."
