City of Jacksonville, Florida KALAMAZOO, Mich., Feb. 2
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Manatron, Inc. (NASDAQ:MANA) a leading
provider of software products and services for local governments,
including the revolutionary Government Revenue Management(TM)
(GRM(TM)) software, today announced that it has received a contract
totaling $2.3 million over five years from the City of
Jacksonville, Florida for its new Property Tax solution. The
software, related implementation services, and ongoing support will
be provided to the Duval County Tax Collector's Office. This marks
the 29th County in Florida running Manatron Tax. The City of
Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida in terms of land and
has a population in excess of 800,000. For its most recent fiscal
year, which ended on September 30, 2004, the Duval County Tax
Collector's Office collected more than $1.8 billion in total
revenue. In addition, on February 6, 2005, the City will host the
Super Bowl at Alltel Stadium, which is the current home of the
National Football League's Jacksonville Jaguars. Manatron Tax is a
comprehensive property tax solution, which includes Tax Levy
Management, Tax Billing, Tax Collection, Cashiering, Tax Sale,
Tourist Development, Business Revenue, Personal Property, Special
Assessments and Public Access. Mike Hogan, Duval County Tax
Collector commented, "It became abundantly clear, throughout a very
disciplined and comprehensive selection process, that only Manatron
had the expertise and ability to meet both our current and future
needs. In addition, Manatron shared our vision for the complete
integration of our tax management systems. Implementation of the
Manatron Tax system will enable our office to serve the needs of
our taxpayers and property owners more accurately, efficiently and
cost effectively. I am thankful for the expertise and hard work my
staff has invested in this process and look forward to providing
even better service to the taxpayers of Duval County and the City
of Jacksonville." "It is quite rewarding to have a very visible,
high profile and leading jurisdiction like the City of
Jacksonville/Duval County, which was chosen for this year's Super
Bowl, partner with Manatron," said Paul Sylvester, Manatron's
President and Chief Executive Officer. "I believe this further
validates our strategy of becoming the leading provider of property
solutions across North America. Duval County's existing property
tax software was nearing the end of its life cycle and they were
looking for a new solution that would provide a technology upgrade
and offer an advanced set of features that could be tightly
integrated with their CAMA software. I am pleased with their
confidence in Manatron and am looking forward to providing Duval
County and the City of Jacksonville with their 'next generation'
tax software and services for many years. We have been working on
this project for the past couple of months and expect to have them
live on Manatron Tax before the end of our fiscal year." About
