and subscription services for PlanetOut Inc. "In 2006, we look
forward to expanding our services to this important community with
more events and products developed specifically for this rapidly
expanding segment of the LGBT market." Also contributing to
PlanetOut's increased focus on the lesbian audience is the
company's recent acquisition of the national magazines and
acclaimed Web sites of LPI Media Inc., the world's leading
publisher targeting the gay and lesbian market. Included are
properties with a sizable lesbian following, such as The Advocate
(http://www.advocate.com/), OUT (http://www.out.com/) and The OUT
Traveler (http://www.outraveler.com/), as well as Alyson
Publications. "The combination of LPI and PlanetOut creates an
unparalleled cross- platform business in the gay and lesbian media
space, and we intend to move quickly to identify the online and
offline opportunities that make sense to us," said Bob Cohen,
president for LPI Media. "From an LPI standpoint, we want to engage
the lesbian market with quality content that meets or exceeds the
already high standards exemplified by Out, The Advocate, and our
other core titles." PlanetOut's new women's initiatives will be
directed by Moellering, a seasoned marketer with 15 years of
experience in consumer brand and product marketing. Most recently,
she was director of marketing at MyPoints, driving subscription
acquisition for the Internet's foremost loyalty points program. She
also held director roles at e-retailer Fogdog Sports and at video
giant Sega, where she managed hardware and software marketing as
well as the licensed sports business, driving contract negotiations
with the four major professional sports leagues. Moellering
graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a bachelor's
degree in economics and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate
School of Business. An avid surfer, skier, climber and mountain
biker, she is the co-founder and president of the 700-member NorCal
Women's Surf Club. "With Anne, PlanetOut has added a key marketing
specialist to its existing dedicated and passionate team serving
the women's audience," said Gibbs. "We have a great team in place
to help us expand our offerings available to current and potential
members, as well as to advertisers looking to reach this audience.
"And already, big-name advertisers, especially in the automotive
category, are reaching out to the approximately 400,000 female
visitors to our Web sites, taking advantage of our ability to
target advertising messages using gender and behavioral targeting
across our network," she added. About PlanetOut Inc. PlanetOut Inc.
