DENVER, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ:FRNT) today announced preliminary traffic results for January 2008. Revenue passenger miles increased 18.3 percent to 753,652,000 for January 2008 from the same period last year. Available seat miles increased 6.4 percent to 1,039,601,000 for January 2008 from the same period last year. This resulted in a record load factor for January 2008 of 72.5 percent, an increase of 7.3 points from January 2007, when the airline reported a load factor of 65.2 percent. The airline carried 762,884 passengers during January 2008, a 12.5 percent increase from January 2007. The airline reported passenger yield of 10.28 cents for the month of January 2008, an increase of 0.3 percent from the same period last year. Its passenger revenue per available seat mile was 7.46 cents, up .78 cents or 11.7 percent from January 2007. For the month of January 2008, the airline's average length of haul increased 5.1 percent to 988 miles as compared to the same period last year.
