DENVER, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Holiday cheer is in the air and as our nation looks forward to the holiday season, Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ:FRNT) provides passengers with a few tips -- and several check-in options -- to ensure a smooth and safe holiday travel experience. First, Frontier recommends that travelers arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to scheduled flight departure time, both on the outbound and inbound trips. If possible, the best option for check-in is to do it online before you get to the airport. That helps ensure our customers will have plenty of time to navigate the airport and get through security. Second, travelers should keep in mind the following: -- For carry-on luggage, all liquids, gels and aerosols must be in 3.4-ounces or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Larger liquids can be carried in checked luggage. -- All liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on luggage must be placed in one, quart/liter-sized, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon sized bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. -- Each traveler must remove his/her quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag from his/her carry-on at the screening checkpoint and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items. "We recognize that holiday travel can be very stressful for our customers, and we want to make sure that we provide a positive experience to start or end their holiday travel on the right note," said Chris Collins, Frontier's Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. "Frontier is consistently ranked by the Department of Transportation (DOT) as one of the top on-time airlines in the country with the fewest cancellations, and that should be no exception during the peak times of holiday travel. While our Denver hub is a very convenient and efficient airport that can provide a great connecting point for travelers from coast to coast, we also saw room for improvements. Since last year we have not only doubled our ticket counter space, but we have added approximately 48 self check-in kiosks. In addition, should there be any weather related cancellations, we have installed new software that will automatically rebook passengers on the next available flight, allowing them to confirm their new seat on the web or at the check-in kiosk without calling our reservations desk. The new software should provide a quick and convenient way to minimize potential disruptions to travel plans. Of course, one of the best ways to minimize stress and avoid any potential lines at the ticket counter is to check-in online at http://www.frontierairlines.com/ before you arrive at the airport." Frontier also offers the following tips for its passengers traveling this holiday season: -- Stay Informed: To check the status of any Frontier flight, passengers are encouraged to check real-time flight status on the airline's Web site at http://www.frontierairlines.com/ or call Frontier's automated flight information line at 800-432-1359. In the event of a weather disturbance, http://www.frontierairlines.com/ will also have the most up-to-minute information regarding potential cancellations, rebooking policies, etc. -- Check In Online: E-ticketed passengers have easy options for check-in that eliminates potentially long waits at the ticket counter. Frontier's online check-in allows passengers to check in and print a boarding pass from a home PC. -- Online Baggage Check: If you check in online and have bags to check, we offer a special "baggage check only" area at the main ticket counter. This is our shortest line at the ticket counter. -- Kiosks: In addition to the online option, kiosks are a simple alternative located at most of Frontier's major markets such as Phoenix, Dallas, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco and more. Learn more about online check-in here (https://www.frontierairlines.com/frontier/plan-book/online-check- in.do;jsessionid=3afb6bf1c3a1b59966033e5e9efbe). -- Consider Curbside: In Denver, customers, especially those checking ski/snowboard/golf or sporting equipment, are encouraged to use Frontier's full-service curbside check-in on the east side of DIA on Levels 5 and 6. Curbside positions have been substantially increased for the holiday rush so there should be plenty of agents to help check in passengers and any of our eight positions on level six and seven positions on level five. -- Skip the Crowd: Passengers checking in at Frontier's Denver hub may access the A Concourse via the sky-bridge on the north side of the main terminal to avoid potentially crowded trams. -- Speed Ahead: Ascent and Summit level members of EarlyReturns, Frontier's frequent flyer program, may use the elite lines at Frontier ticket counters and security checkpoints, where available, to expedite access to the gates. -- Check It and Go: Frontier's aircraft are spacious; however, onboard stowage space is limited. Passengers are encouraged to check carry-on bags at the ticket counter. Passengers are limited to one carry-on bag and one personal item, such as a briefcase, purse or laptop computer. Also, please remember that all carry-on luggage is subject to inspection at all security checkpoints. However, remember that when checking bags, passengers should check with the ticket counter agent to ensure their bags are checked to the correct destination. Passengers should double check the bag tag and always retain their receipts for the duration of their trip. If possible, passengers should avoid putting anything (ribbons, big tags, etc.) on the handles of the checked bag that could block bar code scanners from reading the destination bag tag that will be placed on the bag's handle. -- Special Services: Frontier has many options available to passengers who have special needs. If you have specific requirements, we encourage you to contact Frontier prior to traveling by calling 800-432-1359. This will assist us in providing you a pleasant, stress-free experience on your day of travel. -- Unwrap It: All wrapped packages/gifts will be unwrapped and inspected by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), so passengers are encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts. -- Ticketed Travelers Only: Only ticketed passengers are allowed beyond the security checkpoint. Proper government-issued identification, such as a state-issued driver's license or a passport, along with a coordinating boarding pass will be needed to pass through security. Travelers are also encouraged to visit TSA's "Traveler & Consumer Center" site at http://www.tsa.gov/ to learn more about airport security measures and get tips to help travelers save time and smoothly navigate the security and travel process. Frontier wishes all of its passengers a healthy, safe and joyous holiday season.
