Endwave Recommended by Major Defense Primes for Participation, and Subsequently Completes Phase 1 Training SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Endwave Defense Systems, an operating division of Endwave Corporation (NASDAQ:ENWV) and leading provider of innovative high-frequency subsystem solutions for defense electronics, homeland security and other government end-use applications, today announced the completion of phase 1 certification under the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA) Lean Enterprise system. SEA is an alliance of leading aerospace, defense and space prime contractors whose purpose is to develop the capabilities of their supplier companies, and counter the erosion of the defense industrial base. SEA is implementing a common industry-wide lean enterprise system adopted by the top defense primes in the industry, including members such as The Boeing Company, Northrop Grumman, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, and Rockwell Collins. The primary goal of SEA is to create a unified vision and a collaborative industry-wide approach to the development of key suppliers that eliminates duplication in training and process flow standards. The training focuses on leadership and company culture, process flow management, and standard work processes -- all geared to help improve on- time delivery and quality, while reducing costs across the entire supply chain in defense electronics. Phase 1 SEA training involved a thorough analysis of the company's process flow throughout the entire organization. Endwave then commissioned five distinct Kaizen (a Japanese term meaning "continuous improvement") team events, whereby a multi-disciplined group was empowered to analyze and streamline several major processes in the company. In addition, they completed Workforce Development Training for process owners and master trainers who will be tasked with deploying these and future process improvements throughout the organization. "We are honored to have been recommended by Lockheed, Boeing and Northrop Grumman for participation in the SEA initiative," said Ed Keible, President and Chief Executive Officer of Endwave Corporation. "I am equally proud of the dedicated Endwave team members who participated in this training over the past year, and I look forward to their continued leadership in applying workforce development and operational excellence training across all areas of our company. The SEA methodology has been impressive in both its focus and results at Endwave." "Endwave has certainly demonstrated industry leadership through its early adoption of the SEA Lean Enterprise System and its rapid implementation of Phase 1," observes Paul Roelofs, SEA's Vice President of Communication. "They're clearly committed to expanding their capabilities and have already made impressive progress on that journey," added Roelofs.
