Endwave and SafeView Sign Next-Generation Development Agreement for
Homeland Security System Endwave Awarded Phase II Development
Contract in Conjunction With a Multi-Year Production Agreement for
SafeView's Security Screening Checkpoint System SUNNYVALE, Calif.,
March 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Endwave Corporation
(NASDAQ:ENWV), a leading provider of high frequency RF modules for
telecommunications networks, defense electronics and homeland
security systems, today announced the execution of a Phase II
development contract to engineer next-generation hardware in
preparation for volume production for SafeView, Inc. Additionally,
the companies have agreed to a multi-year production agreement for
the Phase II switch systems, which are expected to be deployed by
SafeView starting in early 2006. Endwave will continue to deliver
the current Phase I hardware to SafeView with a coordinated
phase-in / phase-out plan anticipated toward the end of 2005.
SafeView is a privately-held developer of an innovative security
portal screening system. Endwave and SafeView have been in
pre-production collaboration for over a year, with Endwave
providing the transceiver and RF switching systems for the portal.
Beta-system units have been produced and delivered by Endwave, and
successfully demonstrated by SafeView in trial systems deployed in
various locations around the world. "This development agreement
marks the next important step in our collaboration with SafeView,
as we introduce Endwave's low-cost millimeter-wave technology in
preparation for high-volume production of our switch systems," said
Ed Keible, President and Chief Executive Officer of Endwave. "This
milestone is indicative of Endwave's commitment to diversifying our
RF business base and further demonstrates that Endwave's RF
technology and volume manufacturing capability are a perfect fit
for these high-volume, high-frequency applications." "SafeView has
been very pleased with Endwave's performance and support during our
beta field testing phase," said Rick Rowe, Chief Executive Officer
of SafeView. "Awarding this design and manufacturing contract to
Endwave further supports our belief in its demonstrated core
competence in low-loss millimeter-wave switching and power
distribution. As the millimeter-wave transceiver module and the RF
distribution network are complementary parts of our overall system,
we are pleased to continue to work with Endwave on both fronts. Our
next phase of collaboration is highly critical as we begin
extensive integration efforts and expect a significant ramp towards
volume production in the months ahead," added Rowe. About Endwave

applications, and is based in Santa Clara, CA. SafeView holds an
exclusive license to commercialize the active millimeter wave
holographic technology from Battelle Laboratories, which manages
the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory for the Department of
Energy. SafeView's system uses an active millimeter wave technology
that is safe and offers unique detection of objects made of metal,
plastic, ceramic, and other materials that may be hidden under
clothing without using ionizing radiation. SafeView's system offers
a more effective and less intrusive alternative to metal detectors,
pat down searches, and other means used to ensure safety in public
areas. Additional information about SafeView can be accessed from
