CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), a wholly owned subsidiary of CDW
Corporation [NASDAQ:CDWC] and leading source of Information
Technology (IT) solutions to governments and educators, today
announced that it is open for orders on the Army Desktop and Mobile
Computing-2 (ADMC-2) contract. The Army estimates the value of the
indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract at $5
billion over a three-year base period with three two-year options
and a one-year option, for a total of 10 years if all options are
exercised. The Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information
Systems awarded the contract to three large enterprises and six
small businesses in three modules: Desktop and Portable Systems,
Ruggedized Devices, and Document Processors/Printers and
Peripherals/Accessories. CDW-G was the only large business named to
all three modules of the contract. Under the contract, CDW-G will
support the Armys requirements for commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS)
hardware, software, printers, peripherals and accessories. In
addition to providing up-to-date and industry-best products, CDW-G
will provide support services including asset tagging, system
configuration and integration, custom imaging, installation and
asset disposal. Other U.S. military departments and agencies, as
well as Federal civilian agencies, can also take advantage of the
economies of scale and value-added services offered by CDW-G by
ordering on the ADMC-2 vehicle. CDW-G is pleased to continue its
support for the U.S. Army CIO/G-6 initiative to utilize IT as a
strategic enabler in the militarys effort to deliver a net-centric
information enterprise that enables warfighter superiority, said
Andy Lausch, director of federal sales for CDW-G. ADMC-2 will
allow any organization within the U.S. Army to secure leading
technology solutions to meet their needs, right away in the
United States and around the world. CDW-Gs industry-leading
business model includes a variety of easy-to-use benefits offered
through the companys award-winning extranet program. Complementing
the Army Small Computer Program IT e-mart, ADMC-2 customers receive
access to a customized CDW-G extranet site with secure access to
their account team, product information and purchase history. These
customers can track their purchases, manage asset-tagged hardware
and order configured products via the extranet site. CDW-Gs custom
