SureWest is currently executing a bandwidth management and high definition (HD) strategy, and is beginning to deploy the equipment and software necessary to meet its long-term goal of supporting next generation service delivery. As a part of this initiative, SureWest intends to roll out a full network deployment of SDV in its Kansas City market to enhance its suite of video, voice and data services.

SureWest's deployment of SDV will be implemented across its Cisco set-top box environment in the Kansas City region. SureWest also has plans to leverage future capabilities of the SDV architecture for delivery of cost-effective, next-generation IP-video services that will become increasingly personalized over time.
