BackWeb Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: BWEB), a leading provider of software designed to mobilize existing enterprise web applications, announced today that Oracle has validated the integration between the BackWeb(R) Offline Access Server(TM) and Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) application. This integration makes it possible for ELM users to access their personal learning workflow and enrolled course training content even while disconnected from the network. The results and reporting of these offline training activities are automatically synchronized back to the ELM application whenever the user reconnects to the network. This is the second Oracle application for which BackWeb, a Certified Partner in Oracle(R) PartnerNetwork, provides a mobile offline solution. The first was the Oracle e-Performance Management (EPM) application announced in April 2005. BackWeb directly sells and markets these solutions and works closely with the Oracle PartnerNetwork to support its activities. The BackWeb Offline Access Server (OAS) provides anytime, anywhere access to existing enterprise web applications, portals, and content for mobile and field personnel who are occasionally connected to the network via wireless or other connection. The product makes it possible for enterprises to provide mobile solutions while still retaining the central control, cost effectiveness, and flexibility of applications deployed in web-based enterprise architectures. It does not require changes to the application or installation of complex software on user's laptops. When offline, users work normally in their browsers and new or changed data is automatically synchronized between their laptops and the online application. BackWeb works with leading application vendors and customers to provide mobile extensions to their commercial and custom applications. "BackWeb provides a valuable extension to our product offering. By mobilizing Oracle's learning management application, enterprises can easily deliver and promote learning to their mobile workforce, partners, and suppliers," said Oracle Vice President HCM Strategy, Gretchen Alarcon. "BackWeb now has integrated mobile solutions for multiple Oracle applications and is a key member of Oracle's partner ecosystem." PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management is a stand-alone, internet-based solution that enables companies to proactively drive workforce development to achieve organizational goals. It is designed from the ground up to deploy the right learning to the right person at the right time, in any learning medium. Enterprise Learning Management reduces learning costs and improves productivity by streamlining the learning process and embedding learning into all critical business processes. As a part of PeopleSoft's Human Capital Management (HCM) suite of software, ELM easily integrates learning into essential business workflows. "Enterprises are now realizing they can accelerate their employees' training if they can extend their e-learning applications and content to be available when individuals are mobile," said Moshe Raccah, vice-president of sales and business development at BackWeb. "BackWeb lets customers achieve this mobile extension of their e-learning. With this second validation, our customers can be assured that the integration between BackWeb and the Oracle application is tested and proven. Once deployed, the integrated BackWeb-Oracle ELM solution makes it possible for people to access their e-learning courses and content anytime, anywhere. As a result, they can use their time more productively and advance more quickly in their personal training plans."
