AdStar Appoints Media Services Industry Veteran As Senior Vice
President of Sales and Marketing MARINA DEL REY, Calif., Feb. 17

and publishing industries, today announced that Ben Smylie has
joined the company as senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Smylie comes to AdStar with more than 30 years of experience in
sales, marketing, product management, newspaper operations and the
Internet. Most recently, Smylie served as chief operating officer
and senior vice president of sales and marketing at Atex Media
Command, a global software and solutions provider for the media
that is headquartered in Bedford, Mass. Prior to his tenure with
Atex, he was the practice manager and vice president of consulting
services at Wheelhouse Corporation, where he managed a staff of 100
professionals and supervised corporate activities in Burlington,
Mass., New York City and San Francisco. "Throughout his career in
corporate management, Ben has been successful at raising the bar

In 1991, Smylie founded Mission Critical Technologies, which later
sold to Futuretense. He also worked in a variety of executive
positions for Atex from 1984 to 1991 and served as vice president
of technology at the Chicago Sun-Times and Daily News from 1974 to
