French oil major Total SA (TOT) declared a force majeure Monday following a technical incident on Nigeria's Amenam oilfield, of which Total is an operator, a company spokeswoman said Thursday.

"There was a minor incident on a turbine compressor on July 11," the spokeswoman said, adding that the force majeure was declared on, and took effect from, July 13.

Production has "partially restarted" on the site and the company is evaluating the impact on production, the spokeswoman said.
