Franco-Dutch airline Air France-KLM SA (3112.FR) is studying a possible tie-up with Scandinavian carrier SAS AB (SAS.SK), French business daily La Tribune reports in an advanced excerpt from its Wednesday edition, citing several sources close to the matter.

Air France-KLM is interested in SAS, whose main shareholders, the Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian governments, want to sell their stakes and team the company up with a larger player, La Tribune reports.

"SAS has started an informal consultation procedure and has contacted us," La Tribune cites an internal Air France-KLM source as saying.
