ATLANTA, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- What: Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will honor one of the most influential directors of the late 20th century and a writer who collaborated on some of the country's most-loved musicals - Robert Altman and Betty Comden, respectively - with a slate of films set to air in December. On Saturday, Dec. 9, TCM will honor Altman, who was best known for his 1970s comedy that had the Korean War as its backdrop, M*A*S*H (1970). Comden was best known for producing, along with Adolph Green, On the Town (1949) and Singin' in the Rain (1952). Together they won five Tony Awards, with three of their shows - Wonderful Town, Hallelujah, Baby! and Applause - earning best musical. When: Saturday, Dec. 9, and Wednesday, Dec. 13.
