April 12 2007 - 8:57AM
Business Wire
QuadraMed Corporation (Amex:QD) today announced that the Company
will showcase its Care Management solution and the Clinical Care
Classification (CCC) System during the AONE (American Organization
of Nurse Executives) 40th Annual Meeting & Exposition at the
Wardman Park Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC. The Company will
demonstrate its Care Management solution used to automate care
planning and clinical documentation during AONE exhibit hall hours
April 13-15, in booth 1007. CCC is a standardized, coded nursing
terminology that identifies the discrete elements of nursing
practice, and provides a framework for capturing the essence of
patient care. The benefits of using CCC as the standardized
terminology include improved interoperability of quality of patient
care data and the capture of information to measure patient
outcomes as a byproduct of ongoing patient data collection. This
approach provides greater overall efficiency for documenting care
data and tracking the care activities of associated nursing and
allied health professionals. QuadraMed is pleased to host Virginia
K. Saba, EdD, RN, FAAN, FACMI, principal developer of the Clinical
Care Classification (CCC) System, for one-on-one discussions with
attendees in the QuadraMed booth on Friday, April 13 at 4:30 p.m.,
and Saturday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m. CCC was developed by Dr. Saba
and her colleagues at Georgetown University. In January 2007,
Clinical Care Classification nursing terminology was accepted by
the U.S. Department of Health and HumanServices as a named
standard within the Healthcare Information Technology Standards
Panel (HITSP) Interoperability Specification for Electronic Health
Records,as presented to the American Health Information Community
(AHIC). QuadraMed nursing informatics staff worked closely with Dr.
Saba to develop the clinical content starter set as a key feature
of the QuadraMed Care Management solution. Dr. Saba is president
and CEO of SabaCare, Inc., and is internationally recognized for
her pioneering achievements in Nursing Informatics. Her latest
book, Clinical Care Classification System Manual: A Guide to
Nursing Documentation, provides a detailed overview of the CCC
System. More about Dr. Saba and CCC is available by visiting
