CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Telecom Services Inc. (AMEX:TES), a provider of converged communications solutions today announced that Edward R. James, a veteran financial executive experienced in organizations with a retail focus, will join American Telecom Services as the Company's Chief Financial Officer, effective November 13, 2006. Mr. James joins American Telecom Services from Carter's, Inc., an Atlanta- based branded marketer of baby and young children's apparel with $1.2 billion in revenue for 2005. At Carter's, he served as Director of Finance, with responsibilities for the wholesale and mass distribution channels, with combined sales of over $700 million annually. He was also involved in budget development, planning, reporting, accounting management, sales administration management and financial support for the executive staff, Board of Directors, and various corporate leadership committees. He was directly involved in compliance, including internal audit committee duties, a member of the disclosure committee, and Sarbanes-Oxley implementation, as well as various SEC filing duties. From 1992-2001, Mr. James was with UPS, the nation's largest transportation and logistics corporation, where he served in several positions in increasing responsibility and authority, culminating as Corporate Strategic Marketing - Finance Project Manager. Mr. James has an MBA from Cumberland University and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi College.
