Coca Cola is out – Baristas Coffee Company (OTCPK:BCCI) confirms it is in talks with Cannabis Beverage Companies to build Infused Coffee Offerings.

Earlier this week Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey made it official, dispelling earlier rumors, stating “We don’t have any plans at this stage to get into the space” speaking about the beverage giant’s entrance into the legal cannabis industry by developing a CBD-infused beverage.

Demand for products containing CBD, the non-psychoactive compound in marijuana, has increased significantly in recent years. CBD product sales are expected to surpass $1 billion in 2018, according to the Hemp Business Journal.

As Coca Cola takes a step back from cannabis infused beverages, Seattle based, Baristas Coffee Company (OTCPK:BCCI) confirmed in a press release Wednesday that they are in Talks with a select number of legal cannabis companies exploring the potential of including marijuana derivatives as part of its new "EnrichaRoast" brand of functional beverages based on coffee.

Barry Henthorn CEO stated: "We have been inundated with inquires for distribution, manufacturing, and other business opportunities surrounding our new "EnrichaRoast" infused coffee beverages. In order to provide clarity, we are confirming that we are in fact in discussions with a few companies that have ventured into the legal cannabis coffee space. Baristas is in discussions with these companies as to the possibility of using cannabis derivatives such as CBD, or others, in states where they are legal.”

Beverage industry analysts see more branded cannabis beverage growth coming soon including for both THC and high-CBD beverages. Baristas has consistently stated “in states that are legal” when discussing the benefits of its “EnrichaRoast” functional beverages and has stated that its new functional beverage line may contain THC and CBD as a component in some of its wellness drinks targeted at the mainstream consumer beverage market.

We here at Cannabis Stocks News are looking forward to the entry of a mainstream beverage company into the Cannabis space and Baristas would be a good fit. They have propelled the boutique coffee product “ White Coffee’ into an Amazon Prime's Choice coffee product through an aggressive marketing strategy, most recently, including NFL Sunday Football, Thursday Night Football, Monday Night Football and MLB Network placements during playoff times. Having that kind of marketing power behind a Cannabis infused beverage would be good for the entire public Cannabis sector.
