Thousands of fans from around the world will be in Memphis to
celebrate the life, music, and legacy of Elvis Presley.
Graceland has announced the schedule for Elvis Week 2024, a
nine-day celebration that will mark the 47th anniversary of Elvis’
passing. A pop culture phenomenon and annual pilgrimage for music
lovers from around the world, Elvis Week offers a mixture of live
performances, panels, contests, movie screenings, the annual
Candlelight Vigil, and more, all celebrating the enduring legacy of
Elvis Presley.

Elvis Week 2024 highlights include Elvis: Return to Vegas
on August 16, featuring Elvis on the big screen accompanied by a
live band; Elvis: Back in Memphis Concert on August 13, a
tribute to the music Elvis recorded in his hometown; Elvis Fan
Choice Awards on August 14, a night offering some glitz and
glamour where your Elvis favorites are revealed; Conversations
on Elvis on August 15, starring a line-up of friends and
colleagues sharing their Elvis stories; plus the annual Ultimate
Elvis Tribute Artist Contest; and more!
Thousands of fans will participate in the cornerstone event, the
annual Candlelight Vigil, on August 15, at Graceland’s front
gate. Elvis music sets the tone of the evening as fans walk up the
driveway to Meditation Garden. This event lasts throughout the
night as thousands of participants gather on Elvis Presley
Boulevard listening to music, remembering Elvis, and enjoying the
memorials that are created by fans along the street. The
Candlelight Vigil ceremony will also be streamed live online for
fans around the world to watch.
Confirmed Elvis Week guests include Elvis’ friend Jerry
Schilling; Elvis’ girlfriend Linda Thompson, along with
her brother Sam Thompson, who will share their favorite
family memories of spending time with Elvis, as well as each of
their personal remembrances; Shirley Dieu, Joe Esposito’s
girlfriend and Elvis’ friend from 1974-1977; Jerome Stump
Monroe, drummer for the Sweet Inspirations who opened nearly
every Elvis show from 1969-1977; Larry Geller, Elvis'
hairstylist and spiritual advisor; former member of JD Sumner and
the Stamps Quartet Larry Strickland; Memphis Boys drummer
Gene Chrisman; member of Elvis’ Imperials Terry
Blackwood; and more.
The world’s best Elvis tribute artists will kick-off the week
with the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Semifinal
(8/10) and Final Round (8/12) plus two nights of An
Ultimate Tribute saluting Elvis’ music from the 1950s and
1970s. Additional Elvis tribute artist events include Elvis
Unplugged Starring Dean Z, Rockin’ the Jukebox and
Elvis The Next Generation. Elvis tribute artists scheduled
to appear include Dean Z, Pat Dunn, Shawn Klush, David Lee,
Brandon Bennett, Jay Dupuis, Victor Trevino Jr., Ben
Thompson, and Cote Deonath.
